Robert Wilson’s La Traviata light sculpture for Slamp arrives in New York for The 23rd Annual Watermill Center Summer Benefit & Auction on July 30, 2016. 8 exclusive prototypes choreographed in an exclusive, luminous installation, will be sold by world-renowned auctioneer, Simon de Pury. All sales will benefit the Watermill Center’s young, budding talent as they move towards a bright future in the arts. The Product
A detail of the system designed to close the arrorws of La Traviata, by Robert Wilson. The material’s lining amplifies the LED’s light and illuminates
every point of the lamp. The system that connects the various pieces together, as well as to the main arrow, is made from invisible,
injection-printed elements.
The light sculpture’s elements are made of Lentiflex®, a patented techno-polymer created by Slamp,
identified by its elevated transparency and the ability to give light “fluidity”.
The “La Traviata” collection is aspirational, mysterious, seductive, experimental, innovative, and original, with
a touch of irony that Robert Wilson integrates into all of his works, as does Slamp.
In the foreground, La Traviata 220, and in the background, La Traviata 180. The central structure is made of contoured
methacrylate and illuminated by LEDs. The diffused, chromatic effects are created by LED RGB micro-sources spread
throughout the center. Both of the light sources can be dimmed.

World famous auctioneer, Simon de Pury, will host the 23rd Annual Watermill Center Summer Benefit & Auction.
